Gina Wasikowski joined Harbour as Marketing Manager in August 2019. Gina supports the Investment Management team and is responsible for promoting the Harbour brand. After her first few weeks, Ellora MacPherson catches up with her to find out how it is going.
Gina, why did you join Harbour?
I was looking for a role at a company that was invested in driving their marketing forward. Harbour is a growing business in a growing market and there is a clear understanding that marketing will be a key function in this growth. For a marketer, this is really exciting.
Can you tell me a bit more about your role?
I see myself as the Harbour brand champion and will be responsible for promoting our brand message both internally and externally. Part of this is clearly communicating that Harbour is one of the top funder’s in the world, with a really impressive and experienced team. There’s a huge opportunity to build on what is already in place and I hope to make our marketing activities even more successful.
What do you think will be the biggest challenge?
I’m new to this industry but it is apparent that there is a need for education around how the sector works in general, as well as the products that we offer. Finding creative and intelligent ways to do this will be an interesting challenge.
What is your background?
I joined Harbour from private client and TME focused law firm Harbottle & Lewis, prior to which I led the marketing team at a property agency. I’m experienced in events, branding, magazine production and digital media and crucially for a marketer, have a good eye for detail.
Is there anything else you are looking forward to here at Harbour?
CSR is an area I’m really interested in and I’m excited to see what we can do in this field in the coming months, not just from a marketing angle but from a personal one too.
Finally, how have you found working at Harbour so far?
It’s incredibly fast paced! Working in a range of jurisdictions means there’s always something going on in some part of the world.
